The African American Fitness Circle African
Americans have a higher probability of being obese, developing high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes
than Americans of European, Hispanic, or Asian descent, according to several medical studies. Many of these health issues
can be rectified by exercise.
(When in session), The African
American Fitness Circle meets on the 1st Saturday of every month at Highland Mall (6001 Airport Blvd, Austin,
TX). Each individual walks at their own pace. We meet at the food court and start walking at 9:00am-10:00am. You may want
to bring a water bottle and remember to wear comfortable shoes. Both men and women are invited. Don't wait to lose
weight...fit in fitness this year!
The FIT Formula:
F = frequency (days per week)
I = intensity (how hard, e.g., easy, moderate, vigorous) or percent of heart
rate
T = time (amount for each session or day)
